All of the fabric we use is GOTS certified organic cotton including our sought-after GOTS organic cotton sheets, which means it is the gold standard of cotton, with no chemical treatment. Our partners in India are OEKO-Tex certified, partnered with the Better Cotton Initiative and Fair Trade certified, ensuring fair work conditions and pay for the farmers and workers during the production phase.

Regular, good quality sleep is essential for our brain function, emotional and physical wellbeing and daytime performance. For me, a good nights sleep starts with the bed and the quality and feel of the bed linen. I wanted to source the absolute best in fabric for my families beds. Each product in our range is made from 200TC Organic Cotton, with a Percale weave, which is crisp and matte to touch, but gets softer and softer over time. Percale cotton is more durable which means that our sheets and duvets will stand the test of time.

Percale Cotton is a tightly woven, ‘regular’ plain weave. To qualify as percale, the thread count must be at least 180. In many instances the higher the thread count, the better quality the sheet. However,  with percale sheets this is not the case as higher thread counts will leave you with an extremely stiff sheet that doesn’t soften.

Percale sheets are breathable which will ensure you have a cool and dry nights sleep. A cool environment equals a better nights sleep. On a warm night it is important to keep cool, which means percale cotton is ideal in the warmer months, but also in the winter months when you have the heating on.

The tight weave of percale also helps keep dust mites from intruding. Dust mites are the most common triggers of allergies globally. Because of our humid climate and damp houses, New Zealand has a bigger problem with dust mites than many other countries. People who suffer from allergies will be more protected when sleeping in our organic cotton sheets.

Percale sheets start off by feeling reasonably crisp to touch. The beauty of percale is that with every wash, it gets softer and softer. So over time, with more and more wear and washing, percale just keeps getting better. Our fabrics are yarn dyed, where possible. This ensures that they will hold their colour better after many washes.
